Rebellious Unicorns Production Company Inc. is excited to announce the 4th annual Indigenous & Proud, now expanded to two vibrant locations: Kamloops and Oliver. This year’s event promises to be the most spectacular yet, featuring a dazzling lineup of Indigenous talent, including four renowned performers from Canada’s Drag Race, alongside other incredible Indigenous drag artists. Including an exclusive interview segment by host Ella Lamoureux with each of the performers, providing a unique opportunity to learn more about the performers and their inspiring journeys.
As we approach the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30, Indigenous & Proud 2024 serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of honouring the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, and their families and communities. The event embraces the spirit of reconciliation by celebrating Indigenous culture and fostering a deeper understanding of the ongoing impacts of residential schools.

Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process.
The stunning performers:
- Kaos: A dynamic, two-spirit drag queen from Winnipeg, Kaos is known for their fearless approach and mesmerizing performances that blend singing, dancing, gymnastics, and camp with a deep cultural connection.
- Ilona Verley: The first openly two-spirit contestant on Canada’s Drag Race, Ilona Verley is celebrated for her monochromatic pastel looks and her advocacy for First Nations people.
- Chelazon Leroux: A two-spirit Dene First Nations multidisciplinary artist, Chelazon is known for her Auntie persona, stand-up comedy, and social media influence.
- Beth: A Métis, two-spirit drag performer known for her beauty, comedy, and all-out entertainment, Beth brings a unique flair to the stage.
- Ella Lamoureux: A founding performer of the Kelowna drag scene, Ella is known for her stunning performances and influential presence in the community.
- Jaylene Tyme: A two-spirit Indigenous trans woman and celebrated celebrity impersonator, Jaylene is a beloved figure in Vancouver’s Drag family and a leader within the LGBTQ2S+ community.
- Rez Daddy: Known for his charismatic “big Uncle energy,” Rez Daddy has captured audiences across the Okanagan and Vancouver. Voted Silver winner of Penticton’s Best Drag Artist three years in a row, Rez Daddy is ready to entertain with his unique charm and humor.
- Ginny Tonyk: Local spotlight for Oliver only, Ginny brings her unique flair to the stage, captivating audiences with her performances.
